2024 Nicky Sereda Outstanding Participant Award Recipient

Julia Gilory is 15 years old and has been a participant with FunTeam Alberta for 6 years. She is a role model for her fellow teammates who leads by example. She has a contagious team spirit that is always respectful to the officials, coaches, oppoisition and spectators. She works hard and always remains positive. Not only is she a great teammate, but she also dedicates her time as a volunteer coach for the Rookie program in Drumheller helping them with their skating as this is something she excels at. Her enthusiasm and patience are key skills that make her such a successful coach and allows her to relate to the young athletes. Their development that is seen throughout the year is a testament to Julia's mentorship and along with being better athletes they are also learning valuable life skills such as sharing, teamwork and sportsmanship. 

Thank you for being such a strong ambassador for our organization, a great coach and teammate on the ice. The community of Drumheller and our organization can’t thank you enough for being a positive force for hockey and we look forward to your continued involvement with Drumheller FunTeam Hockey.
